Earlier this month, Centre Network Coordinator Professor Hilary Pinnock travelled to Bermuda to deliver a number of asthma-focused training sessions to healthcare professionals.
Hilary's first speaking engagement was a very well-received Continuing Medical Education session on asthma self-management for the Bermuda Hospitals Board. Over the following two days she delivered six further training sessions as part of the Asthma Educators Workshop, organised by Open Airways - an organisation supporting people living with long-term breathing difficulties in Bermuda. As the main speaker for the workshop, Hilary shared her expertise with healthcare professionals in the areas of asthma diagnosis, asthma self-management and telehealth for asthma and COPD.
Healthcare professionals were enthusiastic particularly with regard to information on asthma action plans, telehealth and approach to diagnosis, with many commenting that Hilary's sessions "made the research interesting and meaningful".
