On 23rd March the Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research hosted a Patient Involvement Fair at the John McIntyre Conference Centre in Edinburgh.
The event successfully brought together researchers, healthcare professionals, patients and the public to explore patient involvement in health research. Derek Stewart OBE, Associate Director for patient and public involvement for the NIHR Clinical Research Networks Coordinating Centre, delivered an engaging keynote talk and members of our Centre patient group provided feedback on current research, proposals and ideas throughout the day. Attendees also took part in interactive workshops co-facilitated by patient volunteers, including:
- Practical planning for PPI in your study
- Including PPI in your funding applications
- Writing an Effective Lay Summary
- Top Tips for Engaging People in your Research
The following infographic report summarises feedback from those who attended the Fair.
